The Port O’Connor Elementary PTO held it’s annual Halloween Carnival, Saturday, October 27th at the elementary school. This event remains their biggest and most profitable fundraiser. Proceeds from raffle sales help fund teacher training, student awards, the annual school-wide field trip, scholarships and various school projects.
The Carnival kicked off with the Halloween Costume contest. Area residents, from newborn to adult, dressed in their best costume to impress the judges. There were many creative costumes which made it quite tough for the judges to award trophies to just the top three contestants. Be sure to view all of the halloween costume winners in the gallery of photos below.
Carnival events included, among others, bowling, Plinko, min-golf and a cake-walk. Kids of all ages tried their luck at these games.
All of those who participated in the evening’s events seemed to have a great time. And the support of the Port O’Connor community to it’s elementary school is impressive. If you missed this year’s event, be sure to mark your calendar next year and support the local school.
