Every Tuesday afternoon the Port O’Connor Service Club serves lunch to area Senior Citizens, and each year residents look forward to the Christmas luncheon. This annual tradition began in 1980 when lunch was served in a room adjacent to the Fire Station. The popular event soon outgrew the facility, and thanks to the support of the Service Club, the Port O’Connor Community Center was built.
This year’s luncheon was held on Tuesday, December 4 at the Community Center, and entertainment was provided by the Port O’Connor Elementary School children.
Lydia Strakos, POC Elementary School Principal, lead the children in singing their Christmas program.
Port O’Connor residents can be thankful for the support of the Service Club and their many contributions to the community.
